Jack Fallows
Jack founded the Paper Jam Comics collective in 2007 while working at Travelling Man part time, where he ran the Small Press service for people self-publishing comics and looking for distribution. He is a comic book artist and illustrator from Newcastle who has been self-publishing comics for the last 10 years and reading/making them for his entire life. Between 2008-2011 he delivered workshops in schools, libraries and youth centres teaching young people how to make their own comic books. This eventually led him to pursue a career in teaching, and he now teaches Year 4 kids about all kinds of cool stuff, including comics. Other pleasures in life include playing and making table top games, creating something that sounds like music and eating enormous breakfasts.
Jack has had illustration and comic work featured in the magazines SCREAM, Starburst, Narc and The Crack, produced promotional material for Newcastle Student Radio, the Travelling Man comic book shop and A Bit Crack Storytelling, as well as creating posters for Portions for Foxes Promo and EP/album covers for O'Messy Life and Rob Heron & the Teapad Orchestra. He had illustration and comic work exhibited at The Mushroom Works Gallery as part of their ‘Quite the Character’ showcase, which ran from 18th July – 29th August 2009. His work has been distributed nationally and sold worldwide. His comics include The Gentleman Ghost, Costume Party, John Henry Split My Heart and The Big Bang.
